This email is for importing records, and doesn't show the email it is sent from, so please provide:
1) Referring hospital name
2) Patient (first and last name) - so we can correctly assign the records.

STL VRA will be closed to observe the following holidays:
Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thurs and Fri.
The week between Christmas Eve/Day and New years Day.
Referring cases:
1) Please give clients the office number (636-220-4155) and/or the portal STLVRA.com

2) Please clarify to the client which type of ultrasound you are wanting the them to set up.
Abdominal - This exam evaluates the organs contained within the abdomen (Liver,
gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, urinary bladder, prostate,
reproductive organs, stomach, intestines, pancreas, lymph nodes. )
Thoracic (NOT a cardiac echocardiogram) - This exam evaluates cardiac structures within the
thorax, including: plural space, mediastinum, lymph nodes, thoracic body
wall, external lung margins, pericardial space.
Please referral all heart patients to VSS or the University for cardiology
consults.
Musculoskeletal - Evaluation of the shoulders or iliopsoas musculature, external musculature of
the limbs or body, external masses, swellings.
Thyroid/cervical - Evaluation of the cervical soft tissues, lymph nodes, salivary glands, thyroid
glands, vasculature of the neck.
Aspirates - diagnostic and therapeutic fluid collection - Costs range from $85 for the aspirate-plus lab costs starting at $300.
Must have had a recent ultrasound. Any exceptions must be approved by the
radiologist before appointment.
Biopsy - are not currently available due to the lack of availability for true
anesthesia.
Radiograph consultation - with written report - $105
Please contact office for rad consult availability prior to sending a request.
Otherwise your results may be delayed beyond your expectations if a
radiologist is not available to read your images.
a) Rad consults sent to the office email (reply@stlvra.com or
stlvetrad@gmail.com) will be read by Dr. Brochtrup (M, W, F) unless
specifically stated in the requesting email for Dr. Brumitt.
b) Rad requests for Dr. Brumitt should sent to his personal email. All
information sent to Dr. Brumitt's email is not accessible by the STL VRA
staff on days Brumitt is not in the office, thus if you have questions or
concerns about rad requests to Brumitt please contact him directly via
his phone or email.
3) Costs:
a) All types ultrasound exams - $445
b) Emergency exam fee -$90 (specific appointments that are not able to be scheduled on line, in
an effort to have emergency spaces available within 24hours of need. Vet or client can call office
to schedule.)
c) Sedation - $30-100(depending on dr. and patient weight.)
d) Aspirates/Cysto/labs - Variable and will be discussed with client at time of appointment.
e) Radiograph consult - $105
Sedation:
We have the following medications available on site:
1) Torbugesic - IV
2) Dexdormitor/Antiseden - IV and IM
3) Alfaxin - IV or IM
We also welcome oral medications sent with the client prior to the scheduled ultrasound exam, prescribed by the referring veterinarian.
If you feel any specific medication should be avoided in a particular patient, please feel free to contact us, and we can work out what is best for your individual patient.
